I have been a busy bee painting new signs for my Etsy Store

Mardi Gras is Just around the corner, so I have some signs in my store for the occasion

Of course, now that holidays are over all I can think about is my Spring Flowers

My latest furniture painting projects

Before I started painting and selling signs

I painted thrift store finds all the time

This table I bought for $5 at Goodwill

I loved its round interesting shape

I finally found the perfect metal tray to add to the top

at TJ Maxx. My hubby attached it with liquid nails.

This twin headboard and footboard came from the

Salvation Army

Solid Maple and only $10

I painted it bright green and I love it!

The metal trays on the wall came from thrift stores

all under $5 and made in England.

I hung them on the wall because I just love that look.

Now my guest room is complete.

My Witchy Poo!

I got the urge to make a

witchy poo

on Saturday

So I dug in my costume box and fabric cabinet

and found some items to dress her up

a white pumpkin spray painted green made a perfect head

I had some googley eyes to add to her stirring stick for

the eye of newt

the neighbors seem to like her!

I decorated my porch for halloween

I made the purple crow stands out of old table legs

I added the black and white striped bows

I love white pumpkins so I bought several to go up the steps

Glass Dish Flowers

My latest art project

"Glass Dish flowers"

I made these by choosing three glass dishes in various sizes for each flower

I drilled a hole in the middle of each dish with a drill bit made for glass and tile

You know those green tomato stakes you get at Lowes?

You peel off the green coating and drill a hole through the metal stake

go ahead and pound stake into the ground until secure

attach dishes using a screw, with small clear washers between each dish

once you get the screw through the stake tighten with a nut

and you're done!

They are so pretty in the early morning when the sun is shining through them

Barn Quilts

I love driving through towns that have them displayed all over

I made a 2 x 2 version for my shed

and now I am working on a 4 x 4 that will soon replace it

So fun to make!

The garden is in full bloom

I found another cute chair to paint

this one will soon be adorned with true red geraniums

I also added a bottle tree and I am on the lookout

for blue wine bottles

You know the blue bottles on the tree catch the evil spirits before they can

enter your home

Well, I bought one because I love how they look

My bunny is happy under the tree

My hydrangea, can't wait to dry these

Girls Night Out

The girls in my churches youth group won a night out

I was one of the houses they visited for part of the evening

I made them cupcakes and decorated with tulips

I enjoyed making things look a litttle girly

We had a lot of fun laughing and being silly

They did a cool art project with jars and melting crayons with lighters

I covered my table in a polka dotted table cloth so they could get messy

Hope they had fun dropping by

My screen porch got a little makeover to celebrate Spring.

I found this table at the Salvation Army for $15

I love the shape of it.

Some white paint made it perfect

It's not Spring without tulips, right?

My yellow bunny came out of hiding, too

Spooky has a newly painted lavender bench to eat on

and I get to enjoy a vase of bridal wreath while I drink my morning coffee

Hello Blogger Friends, Are you getting ready for

Valentines's Day?

I am making wood folk art Valentine Hearts for friends and family this year

I drew a rather large heart on wood, cut it out with the scroll saw, painted and dotted , added a metal

hanger and topped it off with a homemade burlap bow

Don't you love burlap! I like its primitive beauty

Look what I found! Vintage cherry metal candle holders!

I can't wait to put red chunky candles on them and put them on my

Valentine's Day Table

This is a new thing I am making...

Cupcake Fairy doors

This one is mine

The door actually opens but only fairys can get through the wall

a little fairy dust (glitter) sprinkled around and the Fairy's will come!

I think kids will love these

and finally, look what a dollar bought at the

Salvation Army

could cut out the door, put it on hinges add a knob and

I also love cherries!

I attached some white hooks to a sign I made to hang them on

They are just too cute to put in a drawer

I made these cherries for my door corner

They are called "a-door-ners"

I cut them out of wood, painted and sealed them

They are cut so they snuggle up to the door corner

I found this vintage tea towel at a local flea market

I love the bright red raspberries

I washed it , pressed it and it now brightens up my hutch

I have packed up all the Christmas decorations and I am getting ready for the New Year.

I love to freshen things up before January 1st.

I made this Cheery Cherry wreath to greet my friends and guest at the door.

A bright poppy painting I made using an old window.

I love to add a bright spot to each room, This

is for my guest bedroom.

I love that store!

I moved my faux fireplace to the staircase to add some light in the corner.

I took a goodwill frame and painted it ,cleaned the glass until it sparkled

and strung lights on the back. I will keep this up all year to enjoy.

it makes me feel happy and full of holiday spirit

But, right now my focus is on a...

big Thanksgiving Feast!

I have so much to be thankful for.

Just to be able to afford the food to put on the table is such a blessing

This is a shop on Etsy

Since I just reopened my Etsy I was curious and took a look

Martha suggested them for

anyone who likes to sew to hold a few pins

What a great idea!

and she makes all kinds, so cute!

I found out the owner of this shop is

Georgie and she has a blog

so I visited her to say Congrats!

She is originally from the UK

She visited my Etsy and placed an order for this sign

Joyce Meyer (love her!)

"Power Thoughts"

It is a great Scripture based book that teaches you how to build positive mind-sets

that empower you to live a victorious life

Also, each day I read

"Jesus Calling"

this is a great daily devotional

I love this little book, the best devotional book I have ever read!

The daily devotion is so encouraging and you have a couple of scriptures to look up each day,

it gets my day off to a positive start

Halloween Porch!

Well, the front porch is all decked out for Halloween!

We get hundreds of Trick or Treaters!

I try to mix it up each year adding some new (old) things

to keep it creative.

I added some pictures and a new crow!

I found this cute wreath at Marshall's.

I think it has a vinatage charm about it.

I always decorate my kitchen with cute pictures,

little pumkpkins and some of my favorite decorations.

I also did a craft project this year. I had these candle sticks in the shed so I painted them with orange and black stripes and added real pumpkins that I painted my street numbers on.

Fun!!!

Ok, I could not wait!

I have started the decorating process.

I made this shutter screen from two old shutters I atttached together

then painted orange and polka dots...

The purple ladder I got for $1. I painted it purple and dotted it orange.

I had the candle sticks for years and one day it hit me....

paint them orange and black striped and put pumpkins on them!

Yea, my brain works that way, LOL!

Welcome Fall! I'm ready for cool weather and

hot cider and sitting on the porch in the mornings when it is cool outside!

I am sneaking a few Fall decorations outside

and my Spooky Cat pillow. I can never find pillows I like for my porch and

they are so expensive, so I just make my own.

I have to refrain from decorating for Halloween, atleast a few more weeks!

Bright Colors for Sprucing Up and Cute Flea Market Finds

I love to change things up and it seems like my color choices get brighter and brighter.

I bought some new colorful things to change up my guest bedroom and bath.

Will post pics when I'm done.

Went to my favorite Flea Market mall in Kentucky today.

Found this cute handmade church and this little wood girl signed on the back by

the artist who made her.

"One time I picked this flower and I liked it so much I had to go and get some more"

She had a Fall look about her so thought I would decorate around her.

The wreaths are going up and Fall decor is out I can't wait for my favorite time of year!

Raspberry sign for Kathy

When I went to Michigan a few weeks ago on a mission trip

we did some work for a sweet lady named Kathy.

She had this big raspberry patch in her yard and I must

say I did indulge each day.

She also made us two of the most amazing pies

the first one was a raspberry/blackberry with a homemade crust.

You could taste the love!

I made her this sign for her garden.

Oh, and the second pie was a blueberry, she had picked the berries

that morning!

I will never forget Kathy and her delicious pies.

Very Cherry Cabinet Curtain

I needed some extra storage for my folded clothes so I decided to use the turquoise

cabinet my husband made for me a few years back.

I bought a rod and some ring clips at Target.

I had the cherry fabric and the polka dotted, too.

So, I made a curtain to hide things.

Works great and is very cheery!

Dump Door Makeover Revealed

Remember the old door I found in the Dump?

Well, this is after it was cleaned up and primed

but really it looked worse

Now...

It is a lovely shade of watermelon with new

knobs and a happy "Tulip" sign adorning it.

I want to use it as an art piece not as a door.

I love to use unexpected things for art and to add color.

This door is so heavy and well made

I love my door!

Bottle Flowers and Dump Digging!

It is hot here but the flowers are hanging in there.

I made these bottle flowers for my garden.

They are pretty and colorful, but never need watering

My petunias are still going strong. I planted these by throwing a seed packet

in the pot! WOW, best flowers in my garden

I had to take some construction trash to the dump and I saw this old

door just tossed away and looking sad

What a find! I am priming it now and have big plans for it

Will show you when I'm done

Grand Marais Michigan Trip

I just got home from a week long trip in Grand Marais, MI

This little town is right on Lake Superior

So I collected a lot of rocks for my garden

I have been nursing my ivy back to health from the cold winter.

Wal-Mart

It comes on a big roll in the fabric section

Color Around My House

I made a new pillow for my swing.

It has poppies on it. I planted some poppies in the backyard, too.

O'K, I admit it I painted my blue wicker chair, again!

This time red. I made a cherry pillow awhile back that I showed you.

It really wanted to be on a red chair with a bright yellow cushion

My Gerbera Daisies are looking good I planted some in the yard, also.

Table Herb Garden
